"Tomato Fiesta" - 6" x 8" - Oil on Canvas
SOLD
So, every picture has a story . . . this morning I went out to the garden and harvested all of the ripe tomatoes and made a giant pot of homemade spaghetti sauce. Soooo delicious! Makes me wonder why I buy it.

I was trying to decide what to paint today when I spied my brand new Fiestaware on the table. A little kitchen store that is downtown, Haute Cuisine, is closing and so I went down there a couple of days ago and bought some fabulous Fiestware!   It was so hard to choose between all of the colours.  I ended up with Lemongrass, Turquoise, Paprika and Scarlet plates and a few little ramekins and fruit bowls.   I was looking around to find something to combine with it and there were the lovely tomatoes.   "Why not", I said to myself.   I'll use some of the new dishes and some of the tomatoes from the garden.

I'm still behind one painting, but I won't be doing another one today because I'm going out to enjoy the sunshine before the storm comes in tomorrow.

  2. I choose to see the chartreuse as yellow and marvel at the fine use of the primaries here! And, such a perfect edge on the left side of the blue bowl!
You're blowing me away with this challenge you've undertaken!

    1. Thanks Pidge. It was fun to paint this. The bowl is actually chartreuse. This is where the "Colour Pig" really comes into play. I think I should blend that red reflection down a little bit, but apart from that I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.

    2. I wouldn't touch that red reflection ... it's perfect just the way it is!
